Location
This photo was taken in May 2019 at the Hon Khoi Salt Farm in Nha Trang, Vietnam.Time
It was taken between 5pm and 6pm in the evening.Lighting
As the sun was setting, I wanted to show the colours of the sky and the subject so I shot at a lower angle to bring out the perspective of the photograph.Equipment
It was shot handheld with Nikon D850 with 24-70mm f2.8mm lens.Inspiration
I am intrigue with the way of life of a Salt Farm Worker. It is a hard labour intensive work transporting salt by carrying baskets on their shoulder from the salt farm to the warehouses. Each basket weighs about 30-40 kg and the salt worker earns about VND200,000-300,000 per day($10-15). The hardworking life of the Salt Farm worker inspire me to shoot this photo.Editing
This photo was shot in RAW and it was edited via Luminar 3 with some colours adjustment and dodging and burning. In my camera bag
When i do travel photography, my go-to equipments in my bag are often with 2 camera bodies, i.e Nikon D850 and Sony A7M3. My lens choices are 24-70mm, 16-35mm and 70-200mm and a small flash with trigger.Feedback
When shooting salt farm, remember to wear shoes and rubber boots as the ground is wet. Bring along spare clothing (in case you fall) when taking pictures on the salt farm. Be careful not to drop your camera gears as the salt water may damage your equipments.
