Location
This photo was taken under the pier in Imperial Beach.Time
It was taken right as sunset was shifting to the blue hour and the lights on the pier were lit which added the color reflecting off the water.Lighting
Lighting encompasses so much. There’s definitely a balance to be had between using filters and different lengths of exposures to produce the best clarity given the lighting you are working with. I’m a big fan of long exposure and really enjoy shooting from sunset on into darkness.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon d7500 with a wide angle lens. It’s a long exposure using a tripod.Inspiration
Well, I’m obsessed with shooting the ocean at sunset using long exposures to portray the peacefulness and beauty in capturing a moment when the Sun and earth interact to create a short lived beautiful scene.Editing
I use photoshop to correct imbalances , highlight my vision and occasionally create a place that doesn’t actually exist. In my camera bag
I always carry filters and extra lenses as well as cleaning supplies as the salty, moist ocean air is not very kind to my camera.Feedback
My only advice is to simply get out there, shoot as much as possible and be open to experimenting with your camera.
