I took this photo while on a moose safari near Moosehead Lake in MaineTime
It was in the afternoonLighting
Fortunately it was good daytime lighting.Equipment
I have a Nikon D 7500 with a zoom lens. I bought the camera new especially for this trip so I was still becoming familiar with it.Inspiration
I love the moose and Maine and wanted very much to get a picture that showed how awesome they are.Editing
I only cropped the photo and did a slight enhancement with the lighting. In my camera bag
I normally have the zoom lens and macro lens along with my regular lens in my bag. My husband is great as he often volunteers to help me carry it!!Feedback
Getting this shot took a lot of patience. We had to sit still in a canoe and wait quietly for the moose to saunter out into the water. We had to wear mosquito netting on our heads and be covered from head to toe because of the horrible swarms of biting black flies. It was hard to see out of the netting to look through the camera. I wanted just this shot as the moose kept putting his head into the water to eat and the water would trickle off of him as he came back up. I took a lot of shots to get the one I wanted!
