Location
This photo was taken from the South Perth Foreshore overlooking the Swan River with the city skyline of beautiful Perth in the backgroundTime
I have planned this shoot for a while as it was the long awaited Super blue blood moon in special lunar eclipse to grace the Australian skies. I started shooting from about 18h30 through the golden hour and well into the blue hour. If my memory serves me right, this shot was taken at about 20h00.Lighting
Beautiful clear skies with very little windEquipment
This photo was taken with my Canon 6D fitted with my beloved 24mm - 40mm USM 11 lens.Inspiration
This eclipse also just happened to fall on the second full moon of the calendar month — otherwise known as a "blue moon". I have read that this event was the first time a "blue, blood moon" has happened in the past 150 years. So this certainly was an opportunity not to be missed!Editing
I shoot in RAW format and used Lightroom to process the photoIn my camera bag
I carry two camera bodies in my bag - a Canon 6D and a Canon 550D. I also carry a Canon 24 - 40mm USM II as well as a 18 - 200mm lensFeedback
Photography is a broad area, and there are so many different types or genres of photography. Each of those photography types has many skills you’ll need to master before your photos really stand out from the crowd. It’s a good idea to try out new genres from time to time, but sooner or later though you’ll need to decide what you want to specialize in. So, choose your type and hone the skills you’ll need to master it.
