Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a diorama of the countryside scene.

Time

The time of day was midday.

Lighting

The lighting was artificial as the diorama was well lit.

Equipment

I only used my Samsung G7 cell phone.

Inspiration

I really liked the diorama scene and wanted to capture the scene to remind me of the area I grew up in. My dad would take us on Sunday drives throughout the area just to see the sights.

Editing

I cropped the photo and did some slight curve adjustment.

In my camera bag

Normally I have my dslr and at least one lens. But this time I only had the cell phone on me so that is what I used.

Feedback

I wanted to have the background out of focus and focus only on the car. Since I have an older cell phone it doesn't automatically do the bokeh background, and someone had tried to tell me previously that you could not achieve a blurred background with a cell phone. I tilted the phone slightly so it wasn't perpendicular to the scene and created an angle so I was able to achieve the blurred background I was seeking and focus on the car. It only took a few shots to get the look I was trying to achieve.
