This was the biggest tornado in canada's history.....and I got pictures of the whole thing start to finish...while fearing for my life! Scariest and most AMAZING experience of my entire life.
The right place, at the right time.

Location
I took this photo in Elie, Manitoba, Canada. I was driving on the highway on my way to Portage La Prairie, Mb from Winnipeg, Mb.Time
I think it was around 2 in the afternoon, we were on our way to my cousin's graduation dinner in Portage La Prairie. The sky was dark and ominous, and the clouds were absolutely beautiful. I actually have a sequence of photos starting with the cloudy skies, all the way until the tornado dissipated.Lighting
It was all natural lighting.Equipment
I shot the entire sequence on a Nikon F80. Good ol' film days.Inspiration
I actually asked my mom to stop the car so i could get some photos of the amazing clouds, then as i was getting back into the car the funnel cloud appeared. We pulled over on the side of the road for a bit, and I shot an entire roll of film just on this! I got the whole thing start to finish, including debris flying around our car while we decided to try and outrun it!Editing
No post processing, as it was shot on film!In my camera bag
I can't remember what I carried around back then! But i shoot a Canon D7 now, and i always carry a couple different lenses, including my 50mm and a tripod.Feedback
