Location
When the model and I were discussing locations to shoot, she remembered a farm that belonged to her friend. It is near Mississippi/Tennessee border.Time
This was taken around 4pm during winter. We were shooting at this farm at a different location and the sun was going down quickly. We decided to walk around and found this rundown barn and decided to take this photo there. It was extremely cold too so apart from the light which was going away, I had to make sure that I don't keep the model exposed to the elements for too long. She was freezing and between every shot, would wear her coat and then get ready for the shot again. Her dedication is truly amazing.Lighting
This was natural light. The sun was setting and the light was diffused.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark III with a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II lens handheld.Inspiration
The location, a rundown barn, lighting that was diffused made the perfect scene for a very sensual but haunting portrait.Editing
I used Lightroom to process the photo. Adjusted exposure, highlights, temperature, colors etc.In my camera bag
I believe that minimal equipment gives more creative freedom to the photographer without bothering to carry too much stuff. My camera bag consists of my main camera body, Canon 5D Mark III, a Canon 70D which is my backup camera, two lenses, Canon 35mm 1.4L and Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II, A Canon 430 EXII speed light, PocketWizard receivers and transmitters, a dust blower, cleaning cloth, polarizer filter, UV filter and 6 batteries.Feedback
Imagination is the key. When you see a location or plan a shoot, you should already know how you want your photos to look like. The composition, posing etc should all be decided in your mind itself. Keep your composition simple, clean and uncluttered.
