I used a Nikon D610 with 85mm 1.8 lens. I had to free hand my composite becuase I forgot my tripod and the model was using my stool.Inspiration
I love being creative and trying new things. Levitation is a lot of fun and it's one of the reasons I also love shooting underwater. Composite work isn't always easy but it can be rewarding if everything goes to plan.Editing
Yes, it is a composite so I merged 2 images in photoshop. One of the model on the stool and the other of just the background. I then erased the stool and added curves and level adjustments for highlights, shadows and depth. I then worked through steps to convert it to b&w.In my camera bag
I have a few Nikon D610s and an 85 1.8, 50 1.8 and 24 2.8 I mostly use the 85 as I enjoy the compression and crispness it provides.Feedback
Definitely don't forget your tripod like I did. Make sure your model remains still and that they know they'll need to remove the prop and themselves from the shot as soon as it's taken so you can get the background photo. Shoot in manual focus so your DOF remains the same for both shots.
