Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the wild coast of South Africa, during the Sardine migration. It's also the humpback whales migration; they come from Antarctica to warmer waters to give birth and mate

Time

It was maybe 1 or 2pm

Lighting

It was really bright which allowed me to increase the depth of field

Equipment

Nikon D750 with a sigma 150-600 sport

Inspiration

The whales are Migrating so they use to move fast.but sometimes they enjoy a quick rest. Here she is on her back

Editing

I always use Lightroom. here I cropped the photo, I increased the brightness

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, 14-24 f2.8, sigma 150-600,and for underwater photography a Nauticam housing with strobes (but not for whales)

Feedback

in a dinghy always be careful to your equipment, it could be bumpy and you got to watch out for the splash. so I use a dry bag and an inflatable ice cooler to store my camera
