Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at oulton park on the 26/09/15 while watching the classic sports car club this event was called the swinging 60,s in the photo we have a 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 driven by Gail Hill From Horley. the image shows the mustang on the exit of old hall corner.

Time

taken just before 11am and this was the qualifying session.

Lighting

the sun was high and infrom of me making it not ideal but sometimes you just have to deal with the hand your dealt.

Equipment

i was using a Nikon d3200 and a Nikkor 55-300mm VRll, i don't tend to use a monopod as i find it hinders me.

Inspiration

i first picked up a camera in April 2014 in preparation for my sons arrival in the may, from there i got the bug for photographing anything. in November 2014 my mate Jim asked me to go along to his track day at oulton park and thats where i stand now I've been to other tracks since and love going to the track.

Editing

i have done basic level adjustments in Lightroom and a crop.

In my camera bag

the kit i carry is as follows. D7100, 18-105mm, 40mm micro, circular polariser, ND1000, remote and a tripod.

Feedback

panning is a great skill to have and given the right practice and patience the results captured can be very rewarding. try starting with a shutter speed of around 1/200 and once you get the hang of it and start to freeze your subject while creating motion in the background you should start to reduce the speed of your shutter speed. my image was caught at 1/80 most of my panning shots are between 1/60-1/80
