Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken in Paris, of course. On one of our walks about the city.Time
It was taken on an early March morning. Everything was waking up amid the morning chill.Lighting
The morning mist was starting to break up. It was a pretty overcast day, the weather was pretty typical of spring.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D7100, I had opted to bring the battery grip for the trip and use my 18-300mm lens so I could be ready for anything.Inspiration
Well, of course you have to get a shot of the Eiffel Tower when visiting Paris!! I wanted to get a shot that was distinctly different from the majority of shots you typically see. I liked the cropping and decided to take the shot.Editing
My processing was limited to a bit of straightening. I changed it to a Sepia tone and added a little bit of vignette to it. No curves or anything, pretty much out of the camera. For the whole trip I think that I was shooting on full manual. In my camera bag
I ended up regretting having the battery grip. At the end of the day I felt like my hand was going to fall off. I also brought a speedlight and tripod for the vacation and never used them. They just added to extra weight!Feedback
If you stop and see a shot, stop for a second and visualize the shot. If it interests you, it should interest others. Just keep shooting!
