Location
This shot was taken from the Ponte Vecchio bridge, Florence Italy in late April, just before sunset.Time
People had already started to gather, to witness this beautiful view, as it must be nightly occurrence! I was fortunate to be in the first row of the crowd, right against the rail of the bridge to capture this image. The timing of the rower could not have been better!Lighting
The shot was challenging, as there was light coming through the clouds that gave significant contrast to the overall scene.Equipment
Hand held with a Nikon D750, Nikon 24-70mm f2.8, at 38mm, ISO 400, f4.0, 1/800 sec.Inspiration
The old world architecture and beautiful texture of the sky with clouds!Editing
I separated in layers, the foreground, buildings and sky, and made adjustments for lighting. In my camera bag
It depends on what I plan on shooting. I typically carry an ultra wide, mid-range zoom and long zoom telephoto. I have several primes with low f stops for night shooting.Feedback
Bracket several shots and merge. Although sometimes the "HDR" effect is fake looking, you can separate contrasting parts of the image and merge. There are many ways to make it work!
