I am an avid gardener as well as a garden club member so walking around my own property with my dog and camera are a daily deal.Time
Midday on one of the hottest summers here in New England took us to the eastside just as the sun was swinging more to the south side of my home has the dog and I seeking some shade where this Daylily was just full of color and as I zoomed in for one of many shots on these beauties low and behold this flower had some colorful company as well.Lighting
Dappled sunshine as it came through a tall white pine.Equipment
Nikon D80 with a 18-55 lens and never use a tripod, I know I am just a hand held type of girl.Inspiration
I am saving for a macro lens as that is how I dig my flowers really close up but then I will need to save for a great lens for landscapes as it is amazing here in New England around every corner is something even prettier to behold. So for this particular days walk at home I was in search for just color.Editing
I do not own Photoshop or Lightroom I crop in Picasa and then save at a larger size as I use my shots on clothing and other items for the home. Have to earn the money for lenses. In my camera bag
The Nikon I used is always paired with Nokia phone and a Kodak 35m with a great zoom capability as well as an Olympus, with all kinds of fun features.Feedback
Get close to your subject if like me you do not have the right equipment. I make the best with what I have. My eye for capturing what others walk by make up for a lot of what I do not know. I have no schooling in photography as I was a trucker who owned her own rig and there was very little time for play.
