Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken early in the morning before the wind started to pick up. No wind created a totally calm environment where the glorious mountain range mirrored in the waters to capture this glorious image.

Time

It was early in the morning before breakfast as the blue skies and soft sun invited for a stroll along the shores.

Lighting

The best light conditions are usually either in the morning or afternoon hours and this capture is a perfect example for beautiful morning light where harsh sun rays are not present and all colours turn out absolutely glorious.

Equipment

The image was taken a few years back when film was still the norm. Unfortunately I cannot recall the brand or film used at the time but certainly the image speaks for itself.

Inspiration

Once you are in nature surrounded by a beautiful environment like this one you hardly need inspiration as you are just drawn into a landscape and merge with what nature has created to absolute perfection for our eyes to see and share with others.

Editing

There was no post processing done on this capture as it turned out just as I intended it to be.

In my camera bag

Since I took this image times have certainly changed and with it the equipment I use these days. I now own a DSLR Canon 5D MKII with a 17-40mm wide angle lens and a macro lens plus a tripod. Nothing fancy but it serves me well.

Feedback

Photography is a beautiful means to capture the world from various angles. Not only landscapes but various other subjects as well, in colour or B/W. A medium to express beauty, emotion, drama, curiosity and mystery. It creates a testament of how you see the world and how others perceive it. It creates history.
