Location
I took this in the little state of Vermont, on a winter day.Time
It was about 4pm when I took it.Lighting
It was later in the day so the sun wasn't quite as harsh, making it more of a golden hour lighting. It was easier to work with, but I still had a difficult time with not being over exposed.Equipment
I use a Nikon d7000 and I was using 18mm lens. I do use a tripod, but I rarely use it for portraitsInspiration
I wanted a cold winter feel to the photo with the fur hat, and I was focused on the eyes at the time.Editing
I generally do, for this one I just, enhanced the eyes a bit, brought some contrast into the photo as well as making it a bit brighter! In my camera bag
I always bring my tripod with me, my lenses, my camera, memory cards, an extra battery. A camera hood, and a battery charger.Feedback
I would just say, be original to yourself, try and recreate something better then mine. Focus on contrasting colors to make others pop and stand out. "Fitting in with surroundings" is something I always tell myself when photographing people. Communicate with your subject.
