Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Death Valley National Park, California, on a road trip.

Time

Midday.

Lighting

This was taken midday, but sand dust made it seem overcast a bit and softened the harsh sunlight.

Equipment

Nikon D7000, handheld. 17-50 2.8 lens.

Inspiration

I was trying to capture the little dust storm going on and the vast land of Death Valley, without having to stay outside too long because it was summer and 110 degrees, so it had to be quick, even though there wasn't much traffic.

Editing

Yes, cropping, saturation, sharpening.

In my camera bag

Usually just a camera and two lenses.

Feedback

Go on many road trips as you can and see the world! Even though this was midday, you can still take a great picture. You can't always have the perfect light and time when you travel so sometimes you can get lucky:)
