We are passing this place quite often. Each time we are going diving at Nusa Penida Manta point I can see Balinese fisherman setting their fishing nets on the reef and waiting for the evening surge. You can see the reef from the beach and It takes about a minute to get there by speed boat. This time I decided to walk there with camera and underwater housing. It took me almost two hours, wading in a waist deep water with the 8 kg of photo gear. The reef is far enough from Sanur beach to feel separated from surrounding world with only the sound of huge oceanic waves breaking on the reef. The shoot itself went smooth. Fisherman were friendly and welcoming and a little surprised by a dude with huge camera set appearing out of the blue. I have stayed there till the evening light faded. Way back was more tricky than getting there. It was dark and the tide was already high. Camera started to be really heavy while I kept tripping up on underwater obstacles. When I finally reach the beach I fallen over like I was a castaway. But it was worth it, the place is pure magic.

Great image. I love working with a housing, but the weight out of the water must have made this hard work.
