The newest kayak in my small fleet was designed to be a fishing kayak, very stable, that you can fly fish from. I won't stand up on it with my camera gear on board, but its the first kayak I can depend on to not flip... unless I lean way off to the side.
I rigged a set of kayak saddles on a pair of rod holder cross braces to securely hold my camera while I paddle out to my shooting location. I attached a 6' line with locking carabiners on each end so in the event I do flip, I have something to hand to my insurance company.
It is a sturdy craft, handles well and tracks great. I am going to add a rudder system because the river currents love to turn me away from my target when I am shooting.
