I absolutely love patterns in photography. This caught my eye right away. I love how the light is hitting the ice/frost and highlighting the pattern beautifully.

Everyone who lives in frosty climates sees this sort of thing regularly, but how many have the inclination to capture it and transform it to an enduring piece of art.

This photo was taken at my home in Minnesota. It is the frost on the inside of the windows. I am a self taught photographer so every photo is a lesson for me to improve my skills and allows me to experiment with different lens and scenes.Time
This photo was taken in the early morning hours. The frost on the inside of the window dissipates pretty early so I wanted to make sure I was up by sunrise to catch the frostLighting
I used natural light from from the morning sun to catch the wonderful patterns made by the sun on the frost.Equipment
Used my Smart Phone. No flash no special lens. I just got as close to the window as I couldInspiration
I love taking abstract photo's and I loved the way the frost changed on the windows everyday.Editing
I used photo shop to adjust the saturation of color and the contrast. In my camera bag
I always carry my Olympus E-M10II body. I love my camera! I have small hands and most camera body's are too big and bulgy for me. The Olympus E-M10II fits my hands perfectly! I carry several lens for my camera - an Olympus 750300mm lens, an Olympus Digital wide angel lens, an Olympus Digital 9-18 mm lens and an Olympus 60 mm Macro lens. I also have a Promaster Multi-coated UV lens and a Polarizing filters on all my lens. I carry many tools with me at all times - Diffuser filter, cross screen filter, a lens "ball" (I love taking photo through this - they turn out amazing!) and a Nissin Digital Flash.Feedback
Early morning hours work out the best as the frost has not started to dissipate as the sun comes through the window. Getting as close to the window as possible will allow you to capture the many different patterns and designs with in the frost.
