Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was took at the Highland wildlife Park in Scotland. I was given an day photo shoot as a birthday present, were we following the keepers around the park. This is great as the animals recognize there keeper and become very active, so getting photos become so much easier.

Time

This was early morning around 07:30 am, feeding time, there keeper was wondering about with their breakfast, so this male and female European wolf were very active.

Lighting

At this time of the mooring in the Scottish highland the light was all natural. As a newbie to photography I didn't even think about the lighting, I was very fortunate that the natural light was in my favour.

Equipment

This was took with my Sony DSC-HX1 bridge camera, I used a tripod. My subjects were very easy to photography, as they were transfixed on food.

Inspiration

I love wildlife, wolves especially, animals and landscapes, every time I walk out the door with my camera I get inspired. I live in Scotland and am very fortunate to have so much nature on my doorstep, but I have took so many great photos of insects and flower in my own back garden. You not have to go far to take wildlife photos.

Editing

I usually crop and straighten a photo when I can, but I only have the very basic post processing programs. I think I may have to pop back to college for a wee photo processing course in the future.

In my camera bag

I don't carry a camera bag lol, Its just me and my bridge camera and a tripod. I'm very new to photography and just have the basics at the moment. That is what's great about a bridge camera, you don't need a lot of equipment.

Feedback

I would say if you get the chance to go on a photographic trip for the day, go, you gain a wealth of experience from like minded people, and fellow photographers. You gain access to areas where the general public my never get too, see thing and get up close to your subject. It was very tiring, but so worth it.
