Location

The Photo was taken in Cabo San Lucas on the beach next to hotel that I was staying at.

Time

I woke up very early, It was still dark out and I wandered down to the beach to watch the sunrise, As I was sitting down, the light from the sun started to come into view and that is when I snapped the shutter of this sunrise. I believe it was around 5:00 in the AM when the light started to show.

Lighting

This was all natural lighting from the sun, I loved the way the light seemed to dance on the clouds.

Equipment

This was shot with A Leica R3 film camera, with a Leica Summicron 50mm lens f2.0.

Inspiration

This picture was inspired because I was on my honeymoon, I wanted my wife and I to remember the beautiful sunrises from the occasion.

Editing

There was actually a few steps to this image, the first was in the darkroom, which sorry I don't remember what was done in there. The next step was I took the final image and scanned it to make it a digital picture, I then used photoshop to take the lights and some dust spots that were in the original and blended them in using the brush tool. The original shows a small light in the sky that was distracting so I cropped that out and came up with this final image.

In my camera bag

My bag has a Nikon D70 DSLR, and carry three lenses Nikon AF 28-80mm, Nikon AF 70-300mm zoom, and a Nikon ED AF 80-200mm f2.8 zoom, and a super wide 2x macro attachment lens. Also carry three extra polarizing filters, one for each lens. I still like to use two film cameras as well the Leica R3 and a Nikkormat.

Feedback

The sunrises and sunsets from Mexico are truly amazing my best advice is to go early and take a lot of shots, and if your using film cameras bracket a lot, with DSLR I'm able to view the picture after I take but I still take plenty of photos, trying different settings with F stop, speed and ISO to get the best results.
