I shot this image using an Alien Bees ab800 with a 64" PLM umbrella with a diffuser attached to soften the lightEquipment
Canon 7d, Canon 70-200 2.8isII, Alien Bees ab800 strobe w/64"umbrella to the right of baby, manfrotto 055xprob tripodInspiration
my clients were wanting a cute Christmas image of their newborn so I was taking a few pictures placing him around the room when I put this scene together placing him on a wooden bench in front of their christmas tree for some nice bokehEditing
I post-proccessed using lightroom for basic adjustments on temperature and highlight/shadows but not too muchIn my camera bag

setting up the off camera flash is the key and exposure. I set my camera up on a tripod and took a 1/2 sec. exposure letting the strobe fire to light the subject but a longer exposure to not over power the christmas lights from the tree for the nice bokeh effect
