Location
Hi, the photo was taken at the Lake Crnava in Preddvor, Slovenia. This place is very popular for local people and tourists, which can stay at hotel nearby. It may not be as popular for tourists as Lake Bled, but it has it charms. At first there's amazing nature and mountains that surrounds the lake, then there is path that goes around the lake for relaxing walk. In winter the lake is frozen, so we can skate on it.Time
It was 3d of May, afternoon around 4pm when i've decided to go cycling. It was really sunny day (25°C) with a few clouds on clear, blue sky. You could've seen far, because yesterday it was raining, so it was perfect time to capture some landscape, mountains photo. I was cycling for about 35-40 minutes before i reached the lake in Preddvor. I went for a walk around the lake, and stopped at this place, where view was terrific.Lighting
The afternoon sun take care for natural lighting. I like to take photos at different times of day, and not always around sunrise and sunset. The afternoon sun has provided nice reflections in the water. Spring make the awesome green colors pop up. The sun shined from left and it added that, "something more" to the image. Then there's shadow, light areas on the mountain forest in the background and a little bit of clouds to fill the sky :)Equipment
I used Canon G15, digital compact camera, because it's small and i can take it with me, easily, even when cycling. I didn't need tripod or flash because it was really sunny so the shutter speed was really fast. I used built-in ND filter to deal with that.Inspiration
I visit this place quite often and wait for some special moment to take good shot, and this was on of those moments.Editing
I've done only basic corrections to the image, because raw was too flat. I've decreased Exposure, and highlights a little because it was too bright from the sun areas; then there were shadows that were too dark for my opinion, so i lightened them up a bit. I've make some contrast by setting whites a bit up and black down. Additionaly i've added more Clarity and vibrance to the image to make the colors and lines come to live. And that's it! :)In my camera bag
I don't have DSLR camera yet, i wanted to have something small, that i can take with myself everywhere i go. I have Joby tripod to take with me sometimes, because i can attach it to anything and its compact.Feedback
Photography is all about the light, and then comes other setting that are important: colors and composition, reflections ..., so u need to be here at just the right moment. But u can always try at around sunrise or sunset :)
