Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken near Allenspark, Colorado on Hwy 7. The church is commonly called "The Chapel on the Rock" but it's true name is "Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel". The chapel is located on the grounds of the Saint Malo Retreat, Conference, and Spiritual Center of the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver.

Time

I have taken numerous photos of this chapel at various times of the day. This particular one was taken mid morning.

Lighting

The lighting was all natural provided by Mother Nature.

Equipment

The camera used that day was my Sony DCS-W5. This is a camera I once used frequently chosen because of quality and size. I truly enjoy the pleasure of "point & shoot" cameras. They make photo taking much easier when you are out and running on those non-planned photo adventures.

Inspiration

The chapel is located in a non populated area where all you'll find are surrounding it are trees & hills. It's such a peaceful thing, just sitting there waiting to welcome the occasional tourist or resident. The building itself is so interesting. The architecture is simply stunning in my opinion.

Editing

This photo wasn't post processed that I recall.

In my camera bag

The Sony that was used for the chapel is no longer in working condition and has been replaced with a Nikon 9700 for those point & shoot shots and I use a Nikon D5300 for a more stable and planned shoot. More is not always better so I keep my bag light.

Feedback

In this photo I think my positioning was the key factor for the results. Taking the time to reposition yourself is key to getting the best view of the subject.
