I'm truly getting the pulled in vortex feeling here. Love the contrasting green and the crisp clarity.

Location
This photo was taken at a monument in France, while I was touring Europe. (The Arc de Triomphe).Time
I remember that it was a hectic day in Paris. We were running around from Subway to Subway, trying to get everything in, we arrived here round about midday and as I was walking up the stairs I took the photo as I found the spiral staircase beautiful. The staircase was actually full of people ever so often looking down so I was lucky to get the photo at this moment.Lighting
I wanted this image to show what I was looking at, which looked like a never-ending staircase. I was lucky that because it was midday and that the sun was bright that I didn't need to use flash or any other lighting. I just played around with the shutter speed (it was about 1/6) on my camera until I was satisfied.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon Powershot SX60 HS. I use a bridge camera when touring as it is light and I can throw it around my neck.No tripod and no additional lens.Inspiration
I love taking shots of buildings and architecture. I didn't go in to specifically take a stairway shot, ,but I remember that I was hesitant to climb those steps as I was quite tired from all the walking I did already and decided to look up to see what was awaiting me and the swirling staircase distracted me, which prompted me to take a photo.Editing
I used light room after the picture was taken to increase the contrast in the shot to bring out the colors. In my camera bag
I am a very light traveler. I only carry a bridge camera with me. If I need the camera to be very still, I'll use a pillar or a bar or anything I can find to put it on - makes for an interesting photo experience. As I do lots of walking when in cities (up to 40 km in a day) I don't like carrying heavy equipment as my back and neck gets tired. I also feel that sometimes having to first set up takes the spontaneity out of a moment, so I snap and go. I use a bridge camera as I find it light and easy.Feedback
Look for something that not everyone is snapping at. I remember when touring Europe that everyone was snapping the views, that is great, but there are other elements of the experience that you can capture such as the hard climb up or down, or the small alleyway in the city that you'd normally skip, you might find the loveliest cobblestones or even cracks in the walls or like myself the staircases. I love buildings and the way that they are built and formed and how the elements are eating at them. I also love their curls and shapes, so I try and take photos of these things that I am drawn to. I also don't overthink, I snap, make sure the shot is clear and then move on. For me photography is very much part of my journey. I myself don't linger.
