Location
This was early one morning at the base of the Pier in Old Orchard Beach Maine.Time
I had just got out of work early one morning about 5:00 am when I arrived. The sun was making its way to the horizon and I remember it being 0 degrees.Lighting
The lighting was provided for me from the street lamps behind me.Equipment
I was using a Canon 5dmII with an adapted Nikon 28 mm f2.8 ais lens. I did have a tripod because I was using 25 seconds for my exposure time. I not sure what my aperture was because It is a full manual lens and I remember just going to f22 and coming back a couple of clicks.Inspiration
I have seen some photos with the long exposure smoothness of the water also I wanted to take advantage of the street lights. also the fact there was nobody around except a guy walking his dog added to the appeal.Editing
The more photography I do the more I take notice of color so In gimp I really like to dial the color in and get it as close to memory. I will often spend time just try different techniques and usually use layering and blending. In my camera bag
Lately I've been using the sigma dp3 and dp2 merrill cameras. They are slow and really need alot of patience when shooting. I also have a manfrotto MKCOMPACTACN-BK tripod that is wonderful.Feedback
Take chances, you will learn at increased rate. Edit your pictures as soon as possible, this helps me get a better recollection of what you saw and what you wanted to show case. Don't share right away a second look at a photo, and it may reveal something overlooked. The more aware you are at whats going on around you the better you can tell a story with you picture.
