In 1890, Southwold''s Adnams Sole Bay brewery was re-built on a site occupied by a brewery since 1660. Since then it has been modernised and expanded, and in 2011 received the Good Pub Guide Brewery of the Year Award.The brewery is the town''s largest single employer. Although the fishing fleet and the industry generally is much diminished, Southwold Harbour remains one of the main fishing ports on the Suffolk coastline. In 2012, additional facilities for the fleet were constructed there.
