Location
This photo was taken from the fire escape of my uni campus. I love how grungy the place looks, and how big the windows are.Time
It was taken at around 4 pm. The natural light was warming up, but still very bright.Lighting
I bounced a speedlight through the white ceiling at a low power. Just a little fill. The main light source was the natural light from the big, bright window beside the model.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 50D, my old EF 50mm f/1.8 II, and a Yongnuo YN-560 II.Inspiration
I was inspired back then by the feel of the place. The grungy place contrasted with her soft face, and soft post-processing.Editing
Yes, I did. Back then, I was heavily into raised black levels, and black & white photos. In my camera bag
Right now, all I have is a Fujifilm X100, and a spare battery. That's it. The focal length suits my style, the camera's image quality is just fine for my current needs (gig photos, shooting a band, street photography), plus the high ISO is really great. The grain has a nice feel to it.Feedback
Find a nice place that resonates with you, and light it well.
