I don't see what I do as special or unique but I do try to find unusual places to shoot. Look for cool spots. Old buildings or new with interesting exteriors. Carry a small note book to jot down where you were and how the light was. Its also a good ideal to see if its private property or public. If you are shooting models consider how the outfit fits into the theme of the location. Don't be afraid to return to a favorite place several times to get it exactly right. In my case I couldn't. Some locations have a lot of foot traffic so you may not be able to stay long and no tripod. In areas with strong contrast RAW is often best to use but I didn't. Shoots are investments. Go to to thrift stores to find dresses, outfits and props for your models. Sometimes make-up artists can be found for trade and the model in this image was a trade model. Maybe the best advice I can give is to shoot until your model quits. Shoot, shoot and shoot. Especially with a willing and driven model. Its often hard for me to find models so when I do I work 'em.
