Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken in front of my house on a small road in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

Time

It was about 4 PM in the afternoon

Lighting

Mid summer day - overcast light

Equipment

Camera: Canon EOS REBEL T2i Aperture: f/1.2 ISO: 100 Exposure: 1/2500

Inspiration

I came home from an interview that didn't go well. I grabbed my son and we went outside to play in the rain. We jumped in puddles and splashed around. Then I ran in, grabbed my camera and snapped away. It was just what I needed to cheer me up!

Editing

A small amount to pop the green.

In my camera bag

After I learned everything about my Rebel, I purchased a used Canon EOS 1D Mark II. I have a 85 mm, 50mm, a Canon 1:2.8 macro lens, and a 75-300 zoom lense.

Feedback

Sometimes the best photographs are the ones taken at the spur of the moment. No matter where you are, look around. There is beauty in everything, rain, snow, fog, and sun. Don't be afraid to think outside the box. I also like to try to use the rule of thirds, placing my subject in one of the key areas. I like to look for places that have reflections, too.
