The beauty of the Yellowstone River cutting through the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is evident every single day as light and shadows play upon the canyon walls and water. Lower Falls and the canyon take on an etherial, otherworldly quality in the winter months. Water surges through ice and over the falls. The misty spray of cascading water creates a growing ice bridge at the base of the falls. Snow clings to the canyon walls and coats the pines. It is a magical sight! A winter trip to Yellowstone National Park should be on every nature lover's bucket list.
Yellowstone National Park, the granddaddy of National Parks, is the Unites State's oldest national park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
