I shot this photograph on the shore of Lake Ontario in Newcastle, ON. My husband absolutely loves this image! He said it would be a good one to put on Canvas.Time
This shot was taken in the late afternoon.Lighting
The lighting was naturally beautiful! Late afternoon is a perfect time to take pics.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5500 with a Nikon 300mm lens.Inspiration
It was my brothers wedding day. He had asked me to do the honour of capturing his special moments that day. We were down at Lake Ontario and I took several pics of him and his wife in front of the tree. It was a lovely warm day with a bit of a cool breeze off the water. I decided to take another pic of the tree/roots on their own as they looked spectacular. I am an amateur and self taught as I go along. Sometimes I surprise myself lol......Editing
As soon as I replayed the photo I knew it needed a dreamy look so I softened the image in Luminar Neo after doing the crop on the raw image in Photoshop Elements. In my camera bag
Nikon D5500, Sigma 10—20mm wide angle, Nikon 18-55mm, Nikon Micro 40mm, Sigma 150-600mm which I love to use for Wildlife and last but, not least a Nikon 300mm which I use most of the time.Feedback
Dawn and dusk have to be the best times to do a photoshoot. The lighting is usually perfect! I also find that taking pics on a rainy day are pretty impressive with minimal editing. I love using my Sigma 300mm lens as I am able to catch great closeups and distance at the same time without having to switch lenses often.
