Behind The Lens

Location

At Bowling Green State University. Inside the Wolfe Center.

Time

It was toward the afternoon. I was not sure if I would get the right lighting I wanted from inside of this building. But it ended up working.

Lighting

The front of the building is all windows. And as you can tell the floor was very reflective with white walls. So I knew the lighting should. be superb and I would not need my flashes or any other fill light. This was all done with natural lighting.

Equipment

I used my Canon 5D Mark III and my fixed 1.8 50mm lens. I absolutely love this lens.

Inspiration

The Footwear love photo contest. I like messing around with reflections too. So I literally laid down on the dirty to get this beautiful angle shot.

Editing

I did simple editing in Light room. I messed with the contrast and clarity of the picture.

In my camera bag

Sometimes way too much. I try to carry my Canon 2.8- fixed 100mm lens and 1.8 fixed 50mm lens.

Feedback

Never forget to take different angle approaches of a subject if you can. Sometimes you cannot given the subject or situation you are shooting. But always plan ahead and make a shot list, because sometimes you will get an awesome shot by accident or by experimenting with different ideas.
