I captured this Black And White wildlife image of an Mycteria americana or Wood Stork at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida on Friday, August 21, 2020. It was one of several that were at the lake that day. Wood Storks are slowly becoming more common in Florida and in fact have been upgraded from an endangered species to a threatened Species by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. These large wading birds were on shore and did not appear concerned when I slowly moved closer to them. They moved freely about me at varying distances they chose as I practiced my wildlife photography in the middle of a small Florida city. This was originally a color photograph that I converted to a black and white photograph.
