Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Camargue, the wet part of Provence dedicated to the breeding of bulls and horses . You can access the " manades " if you are accompanied. In my case I was accompanied by professional photographer Cecile Domens

Time

the appointment was made in the marshes one hour before sunset. the light illuminated the scene from the left

Lighting

The reflection of clouds on the water is the result of using a pole of 8 meters to take the picture

Equipment

A painter pole with a sony a6500 fixed at the top and a control with my iphone XR

Inspiration

The Horses were running in front of us following the guardian whose horse had created circles in the water . The clouds reflected in the water around the horses .

Editing

THe files are transmitted to the phone . I used the Lightroom mobile development module to process the jpeg file with an artistic profile revealing the beautiful light of the moment

mirorless camera sony a6500 APSc , sony 18-105 f4 a pole of 8 meters hand held

Feedback

the Camargue is magnificent but difficult for the photographers . You can not see anything because the farms are private fenced. I therefore recommend you if you want to take this kind of photos to be accompanied by people enjoying good relations with the breeders or to join in guided tours of the herds . Pole Aerial Photography can give you extraordinary results with a high resolution camera but is physical and need training to enter the picture in the frame . You can't use this technic if the weather is windy or above people because it can be dangerous if you loose control of the pole .
