Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in el Hamool El Hamool is one of the largest cities in the Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, in the north of Egypt .

Time

This is probably one of my favorite images. i remember waking up around 4 am, and preparing to travel to Kafr El Sheikh governorate It was one of the best photography trips I can remember . This was taken on May 13 , 2016 at 11:41 AM.

Lighting

I wanted this image to look mysterious and to draw the viewer into a scene in a story. There was some beautiful light from their desert tents but he needed more. I decided that using flash would be a great way of lighting the scene and adding drama as well as making the story even more intriguing.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D7100, With 18-105mm f/3.5 lens. and one flash with softbox .

Inspiration

This series of photos showcases the portraits of different tribes and the old egyptian costumes ,in terms of the fabrics used in the costumes, and the patterns embroidered for the decoration of the costumes. In this village, I noticed the appearance of their embroidered clothes, their daily lives, their different customs and traditions. which led me to make a series of photos of faces of this village.

Editing

In this case I darkened the background to make the picture more dramatic as well as make the story more interesting.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100, With 18-105mm f/3.5 lens. Extra Batteries Extra SD Card External Flash
