Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in my home during April 2020, in the middle of quarantine. I am a pregnant photographer during covid, my partner a chef. We both have lost our jobs due to the pandemic but I still needed to create - so we put our masks on, a tripod & used a remote to capture ourselves.Time
I took the photo mid day, using some lighting equipment.Lighting
I used only one light for this photo, and one soft box, I like to keep it pretty simple.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS R mirrorless and my 50 mm 1.8 Canon lens, for the flash it was a simple AD200 Flash & Rapid Octobox by Westcott Lighting.Inspiration
Being home in quarantine, depression & pregnancy led me to want to capture as much of the pandemic as I was able.Editing
I do post processing using photoshop & Lightroom. I like to bring a painting like feel to my images, and a moody intensity to get across what ever feelings I'm trying to get out as an artist. In my camera bag
Normally in my bag I have a speed light, at least 3 lenses, a few prisms and anything else I may need for a shoot!Feedback
I'd say do what feels right, using your intuitive side and creative abilities, think outside of the box in every area, editing is especially important to really put your own touch on your photos. With editing you can create the mood you are going for and convey a feeling for the viewers.
