Such a clear shot. Beautifully captured that is. But it makes me wonder; where you not afraid that this guy just stopped by for lunch....

Location
This photo was taken in Kalispell Montana during a photo shoot with 12 other photographers. The animals are taken care of by the Tripple D game farm. They are trained to be comfortable being photographed. They are still dangerous, but are treated with love and patience by the trainer. It is wonderful being with them and watching their natural behavior as they roam the field and play with their cubs.Time
This was taken early in the morning after an overnight snow. It was about 20 degrees.Lighting
The day was overcast with intermittent snow.Equipment
This was taken hand held with a 200 to 500 Nikon zoom lens on a Nikon full frame D810. Shutter was set at 1000 of a second at f8 with iso of 1600 and processed with DXO Photolab 2 software.Inspiration
I love making interesting and beautiful photos no matter what the subject. I have never photographed animals before but these animals are beautiful to photograph.Editing
I used the noise reducer and sharpener in DXO because of the high iso.In my camera bag
I use cameras by Fuji, Nikon, and Sony depending on the subject and situation.Feedback
The best thing I learned from our teacher on this trip was how to meter and focus fast moving animals. Adam Jones said to use auto continuous focus with back button control, 1000 of a second shutter, and take the light reading from the snow and under expose by two stops.
