Not far from the Cook Strait on New Zealand's South Island side in the Marlborough Sounds are a series of inlets and coves that seem to play tricks on your eyes: yes the water is a kaleidoscope of blues and greens, the sand is orange, the rocks, bleached from the sun, and endless hues of green from the plants and trees, the sky is a thorough blue you can only get in New Zealand.
