Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at our family farm in Maricopa, AZ. It was during our Bermuda grass seed harvest in the fall of 2018.

Time

The photo was taken in late afternoon around 4:00pm

Lighting

There wasn't anything special about the lighting with this photo. Every time we have a harvest on the farm, I get the drone out and see what I can get.

Equipment

The photo was taken with a DJI Mavic Pro drone. There were no filters applied during the shot.

Inspiration

I love taking drone photography of farming operations. I think it makes for some awesome shots and perspectives that you would normally not get.

Editing

I did a few light touch ups in Adobe lightroom. It was mainly to make everything straight in the photograph to give it that nice symmetrical look.

In my camera bag

I always have my DJI Mavic Pro drone and my Nikon 500 with a couple lenses. When I shoot with my Nikon, I typically carry a few filters to get some different looks.

Feedback

In all honesty, just get out and shoot. If you have a drone, try flying straight over things and take shots looking straight down. You will be surprised what you get. I was just playing around on this day and got a photo that was pretty cool.
