Lake Tahoe's Eastern shore is a wonderland of emerging granite boulders scattered among sandy beaches. I often head down to this beach on a summer evening. It's off the road, necessitating a short hike, which keeps it a little quieter than other locations. The compositional options are diverse. I like to shoot water scenes at low angles, with my camera just above the surface, dragging the shutter for a smooth foreground. The contrast in textures created by this technique is on display in this image.
