Location
This photo was taken at Arbor View Gardens E 10540 County Road C Cliftonville WI54929. The place has a multitude of different species of plant life and is a great place to visit in the spring and summer.Time
The gardens are only open from 10:00 to 4:00 5 times a week, so as you can imagine the sun is usually at it's raging best. This is not a good time for photography unless you are looking for great shadows. So you do what you have to do to create great imagery.Lighting
When I take photos at this time of the day, I usually use my body to supply shade from the bright sun.Equipment
I have a Nikon 7000 camera and usually take 4 lenses with me at all times. I mostly use a Nikon 18-110 lens 1:3.5-5.6. I carry a tripod with me, but find it to be difficult to carry on long 5 mile trips so I rely on taking multiple shots at once to get a great focused image.Inspiration
I'm always looking for imagery to photograph that other people overlook or just don't see. My tagline that I have used for years is "If you can see beyond what others see then you open the door to unlimited possibilities".Editing
I try to do minimal post processing. Usually, I adjust the saturation, brightness, and contrast a little because the camera does not see what we see!In my camera bag
I usually take 4 lenses with me at all times. A Nikon 18-110 lens 1:3.5-5.6., A wide angle lens, a Macro lens and two different long distance lenses. Sometimes a tripod.Feedback
The big thing I stress when I give classes on basic photography and it's rules is to go out look around and use your imagination. Look at every item you are interested in shooting at all different angles and perspectives. And use your imagination!
