Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the rose garden in my backyard. I was getting ready to mow the lawn when I spotted this beauty.

Time

It was late morning and the sun had just cleared my neighbors trees.

Lighting

It was the first light of the day to hit that edge of the rose garden. If I would have waited 30 minutes to go and mow the lawn it would have been in shade again for the rest of the day.

Equipment

This was shot using a Canon EOS Rebel T5, Canon EFS 55-250mm, and a Promaster tripod.

Inspiration

It was a combination of lighting and the way the flower was starting to open up.

Editing

I used Canon Digital Photo Professional for HDR, Lightroom for editing, and Photoshop for my watermark.

In my camera bag

I have been taking photos for only a year and a half so my collection of equipment is still small. I have my Canon T5 (my best friend), the Canon EFS 18-55mm kit lens that came with it, a Canon EFS 55-250mm lens, a set of Zeikos magnification lenses, and a Zeikos circularizing polarizing filter.

Feedback

Always keep your eyes open no matter what you are doing. You never know when you will see something that is waiting to be photographed.
