Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken on a country road on the way to visit a friend. My camera generally goes everywhere with me so if I find something that is interesting I stop to shoot it.Time
Late Autumn.......on the 16th April around 4pm. It had started out a clear day but by the time this was taken a storm was building and as one can see the water hole was low due to the extreme heat and drought of summer. Unfortunately this time no rain came from the impending storm.Lighting
Nothing special, just darkening clouds and overcast.Equipment
Canon EOS 450D, Canon 35-105 ef lens hand held with natural lightInspiration
Probably the low water level in the dam, following a harsh Summer and the darkening clouds building to a storm. The bright yellow colour of the soil was also in contrast to the stark dead colour of the trees and surrounding environment.Editing
Very little - a minute amount of sharpening and cropping. In my camera bag
Canon EOS 450D 18-55 ef-s and a 35-105 ef lens Just recently I have added a Sigma 150-600 lens and a Manfrotto 290 tripod with a 3 way head.Feedback
Nothing special, one just needs to get out there at any time of day or night and take pictures. The best way to learn is thru trial and error, use a variety of camera settings until you find the best for a particular image, not all captures will use the same settings. As a photographer one needs to learn to look and see the amazing world around us.
