Behind The Lens
Location
Queen Charlotte Sounds, South Island , New Zealand . Really love this location it's so beautiful. Unfortunately we only had a week , but hope to return soon.Time
This was shoot at about 5.30 pm, I had been trying for days to get my daughter to model for me on this wharf , (she was having so much fun on the beach with her friend) she finally relented the day before we left and gave me 10 mins to get this and a few other shoots.Lighting
I had been waiting for the golden hour , but realised I wasn't going to get it so took this as this while I still had enough light.Equipment
I use a canon 6d and 135mm shot at f2Inspiration
Was so excited to see the wharf , couldn't wait to get my daughter out there, wanted to create something with mood and emotion.Editing
I edited in ACR and Photoshop the sky was added.In my camera bag
I always have my canon 6d and 135mm , I also have a 85mm 1.8 and 50 i.4 . Usually have my flash with me but forgot this time.Feedback
Anywhere this beautiful is hard to take a bad photo. I love shooting wide open , so every chance I have that is what I do ,however as its easy to miss so I take lots of photos . My best advice is never give up , keep practicing and ask for help if you need it there are many photography groups on line i.e. FB ect. Most importantly have fun and love what you do.
