Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at San Clemente Beach in California.

Time

I took this photo right before the sun went down. It is one of my favorite photos that I've ever taken. I really just like everything about it!

Lighting

I tried to get the sun in the corner so that it wasn't too overpowering.

Equipment

I used a Canon Rebel SL1 with a standard 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

Me and my brother were just walking on the beach having a good time and we see this barefoot runner going passed. The sun was going down and I saw the footprint and I knew I just had to take a picture of it. I made sure the runner was still in sight to get him running in the background.

Editing

I used Lightroom to touch it up a bit. I adjusted the contrast a little and bumped up the brightness.

In my camera bag

I have 3 ND filters, a 52 inch tripod, and now I have a Nikon D3300 that I use. I know it's not much but it's all I need.

Feedback

I you're ever at the beach and you see a footprint in the sand, make sure that the water doesn't wash it away. Make sure There is not too much light in the frame or else it will overpower the footprint. Be sure to have a long focal length or else you will have a little too much that isn't your subject.
