Location
This photo was taken near Cape Town, South AfricaTime
We all heard about two fishing trawlers that collided and then ran a ground near Cape Town, so after work that day I went to look for the two vessels, found firmly embedded on the beach with an effort on the go to dislodge the trawlers from the beach. It was at about 5.30 pm that the photo was taken.Lighting
I have used a simple point and shoot, but know your camera settings even these cameras the exposure can be set. Look for light direction to maximise the dramatic effectEquipment
I used a cheap digital camera, it was only afterwards that I upgraded to a dslr. I had a 35 mm Nikon which I occasionally used.Inspiration
A stranded boat is not an everyday occurance! I wanted something to remember!Editing
Not much post processing! Basically only cropped the image.........this was way before I know anything about any processing or that one can do itIn my camera bag
I just upgraded my camera from a Nikon D 5200 to a Nikon D 750, traded everything in for the upgrade, at the moment I have a 24-85 Nikon lens, SB 900 flash, an equivalent photos flash, a couple remote flash triggers, flash clamps and stands, usual cleaning stuff. I am planning to get a telephoto sports lens as well as a prime lens of what is available in the 110 mm range, still have to decide what will suit me best and of course a 50 mm lens.Feedback
Don't rush, take your time and observe the subject, look at the light and shadows, look at the background
