Location
I shot this at the racing club in the emirate of sharjah, UAE during an event there last year.Time
This photo was shot in the evening, few minutes before sunset. As the light from setting sun falls nicely on the subject i wanted a shot from this location. Lads walk horses back to stable after the race through this way, so I waited there to get my shot.Lighting
As the background was dull and i had good light falling on the subject, i used big aperture to blur it out and chose my shutter fast enough to under expose the background so that back-light on the hair makes it stands out and isolate the subject. i got it right in couple of shots.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750 full frame body with Nikkor ED 80-200 mm f/2.8 lense handheld @ full focal length wide open @ F2.8Inspiration
I was roaming around the place taking different shots when i noticed horses were taken back to stable after the race through this path. I saw the nice setting sun light falling from the side which gave me the idea of a backlite shot. Though I missed the shot when I spotted the location, I waited there till the next race was over and made my shot.Editing
Yes. I have done some for the color and contrast. and some clean up for a piece of strap from the halter. In my camera bag
I generally pack a Nikob D750 with my nikkor 16-35 F4 on the body. I also carry a 80-200 F2.8 Nikkor along with my SB910 speedlite.Feedback
Always move around the place to find the best light. Finding and capturing it all that you need.
