This photo was taken in my studio based in San Antonio, TX. It was one of the first shoots I did in my new space!Time
This was an afternoon session with a good friend...creativity struck and I called her up and shot this!Lighting
I had an vision of what I wanted in my mind and once we got in the studio I saw this awesome peice of jewelry and knew then that it would be the focus of the image! I set up the shot with a 22in white beauty dish and added fill underneath with a white peice of foam core. As soon as I took the shot I knew we were in business.Equipment
This was shot on my D7100 with my trusted 50mm nikkor. The lighting was a 22in beauty dish centered above the subject with a peice of white foam core for fill under her chinInspiration
It was literally a completely random creative adventure. I had the urge to do something different in my new studio space and I called up my friend and model in this image to ask her if she'd like to shoot... I met her there with a makeup artist and made it happen...Editing
The post processing... Skin clean up, d&b, enhanced eyes.In my camera bag
Lately I've been really loving my Tamron 35mm... The sharpness is AWESOME and the image stabilization is top notch. I also always have my Nikon D7100 and D750 camera bodies. Of course I always have my 200 2.8 and all around 24-105.Feedback
The best advice I can give for someone trying to capture something similar is to know your lighting... Especially with a beauty dish. It's SUCH AN AWESOME peice of equipment and the quality of light is so incredible if you know how to PROPERLY use it. Also, pay attention to detail... From catch lights to the position of the jewelry to angle of the subjects face.. It all factors into getting THE SHOT
