Location
Was at a local Indian Pow-Wow at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park in Bushnell Florida. These Pow Wows are held in several locations throughout Florida. Pow Wows are an event by native Americans who are sharing their heritage and different dances with others to help preserve their heritage.Time
Image was taken around 11:00 AM.Lighting
Lighting is harsh around mid day. Worked on finding a bit of shade from the surrounding trees to help cut down on the harsh direct overhead light.Equipment
Was out shooting with the Nikon D800 and the Nikon 70-200 2.8 version 1. Like to shoot handheld which gives me more freedom to quickly focus on different subjects.Inspiration
I was sitting near this young guy with his family before the event while they were getting ready. I recognized his dada and realaized and I had caught their image several years ago. The event started before they were ready and this young guy was a bit upset they had started without him.Editing
I shoot in RAW and start my workflow using ACR to start working in Photoshop. Had do a bit of work to adjust for the harsh light and then worked with the B&W layer in Photoshop to turn into the sepia look.In my camera bag
D800, Nikon 70-200, Nikon 24-70 Nikon 1.4 and 1.7 teleconvertor, spare cards and battery.Feedback
The Lightning changes throughout the day depending on many factors, time of day, cloud conditions, sun direction, and surroundings. All creating different types of light and looks, get out in shoot in these conditions and be aware of the the light and enjoy yourself and experiment. Hope you enjoy your adventure.
